Lumina is a spectacular after-dark light trail at Marsh Farm in Essex.
Follow a mile-long illuminated route through colourful installations, sparkling landscapes and magical themed worlds. Along the way, you’ll encounter prehistoric giants, enchanting forests and plenty of hidden surprises, all brought to life through light, music and imagination.

We strongly recommend booking online before your visit.
Entry is managed through timed arrival slots and the number of tickets available for each session is limited. Popular dates and times may sell out, so booking early is the best way to secure your preferred visit.

The Lumina trail is approximately one mile long.
We recommend allowing around one hour to complete the experience, although this may vary depending on your walking pace and how long you spend enjoying the installations.

Yes! Lumina has been designed as a magical experience for the whole family.
Children can explore colourful themed worlds, discover illuminated dinosaurs and enjoy plenty of surprises along the trail. All children must remain supervised by a responsible adult throughout the experience.

Even where a child qualifies for free entry, you may still need to include them within your booking so we can safely manage visitor numbers.

Your ticket includes entry to the Lumina light trail and the illuminated experiences featured along the route.
Lumina is a separately ticketed after-dark event. Entry to Marsh Farm during the daytime, the Father Christmas Experience and any other separately ticketed attractions are not included unless clearly stated within your chosen ticket.

Lumina is centred around the after-dark illuminated trail.
However, Marsh Farm’s usual daytime rides, play areas and areas to buy food and drink will be open.

Yes, free parking is available at Marsh Farm for visitors.
Please follow the signs and instructions from our parking team when you arrive. We recommend allowing plenty of time to park and make your way to the event entrance before your booked arrival time.

The majority of Marsh Farm is located on hard-standing pathways, and much of the site is accessible to wheelchair users and pushchairs.
However, Lumina is an outdoor winter event, and some sections may include grass, uneven surfaces or areas that become wet and muddy. Suitable outdoor wheels and footwear are recommended.
Guests with specific access requirements are encouraged to contact our team before booking so we can provide the most appropriate information.

Marsh Farm has accessible toilets and an adult changing facility.
The changing facility includes a lifting hoist, adapted toilet, adult-sized changing area, adjustable sink and privacy screen.

Lumina features a wide range of lighting effects, music and immersive illuminated displays.
Some installations may include flashing, pulsating or moving lights and may also use atmospheric effects. Guests with photosensitive epilepsy, motion sensitivity or sensory sensitivities should consider this before booking.

Yes. Lumina is an after-dark experience, and some areas between installations may have lower lighting levels.
Please remain on the designated illuminated route, supervise young children closely and follow any instructions provided by our event team.

Lumina is an outdoor winter event, so please dress warmly and prepare for the weather.
We recommend:
Warm and waterproof clothing
Comfortable outdoor footwear
Wellies or walking boots following wet weather
Hats, gloves and extra layers on colder evenings
Some pathways may become wet, muddy or slippery during poor weather.

Lumina is designed to continue in most winter weather conditions, including rain.
Please check the forecast before travelling and arrive dressed appropriately. The event would only be cancelled where weather conditions create a safety concern.
Should Marsh Farm need to cancel an evening, ticket holders will be contacted using the email address provided when booking. Updates may also be shared through the Marsh Farm website and social media channels.

If you have purchased an open ticket you can arrive any day that Lumina is running. Once redemmed it can not be resused on another day.

A selection of food and drink will be available to purchase during the event. The outlets and menu available may vary depending on the date of your visit.

Pets are not permitted at Marsh Farm or within the car park.
Guide dogs and service dogs are welcome. Please be aware that Lumina includes music, lighting effects and potentially busy areas when deciding whether the environment is suitable for your assistance dog.

Marsh Farm is primarily a family attraction but adult-only bookings are permitted.

Lumina is a separate after-dark light trail and is not the Marsh Farm Father Christmas Experience.
A Lumina ticket does not include entry to the Father Christmas Experience unless this is expressly stated as part of a particular ticket or package.
